3D CAD Design

The RDI service "3D CAD design" provides specialist support for the creation of parametric three-dimensional models that are accurate and adapted to the requirements of analysis, simulation, prototyping and manufacturing. Using CAD tools and dedicated software applications, the service makes it possible to develop 3D models that comply with design and manufacturing standards and that are prepared for subsequent technological processes.

The service supports the transformation of technical concepts into validated digital geometries, useful for the design of components, assemblies, devices, prototypes and innovative products. The models generated can be used for dimensional checks, functional analysis, computer-aided simulations, the preparation of rapid prototypes, reverse engineering and supporting technical documentation.

The applicability of the service extends to fields such as the automotive industry, aeronautics, industrial equipment, metal structures, mechanical design and the development of new products. By combining 3D CAD design with simulation, 3D scanning and prototyping tools, ICSTM can support both the initial stages of conceptual development and the optimisation of technical solutions prior to manufacturing.

The beneficiaries of the service may be companies, public institutions, research laboratories, product developers, design engineers, component manufacturers and organisations interested in the rapid validation of design solutions. The service contributes to shorter development times, improved design accuracy, fewer manufacturing errors and sound technical decisions based on rigorous digital models.

The activities are carried out using high-performance graphics workstations, CAD licences, simulation applications such as Flow Simulation, a 3D printer or CNC equipment for validating prototypes, a 3D scanner for reverse engineering, prototyping consumables including PLA/ABS filament and resin, testing materials, additional software for advanced validation and support infrastructure for measurement and assembly, such as probes, micrometers and digital callipers.
