ICSTM supports the transfer of research results to business, public institutions and partners interested in the development, testing and application of innovative solutions.
Through its technology transfer activity, the institute facilitates the use of scientific expertise, research infrastructure and RDI results in applied contexts, contributing to the development of products, processes, methods, technologies and services with economic and social value.
ICSTM seeks to ensure that research results do not remain solely at academic level, but can be put to use through collaboration, applied projects, RDI services, consultancy, prototyping, experimental validation and the development of tailored solutions.
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AREAS
The technology transfer activity of ICSTM is supported by the interdisciplinary skills of its researchers and by the research infrastructure available within the institute.
The main areas are:
- advanced materials, micro and nanotechnology;
- the characterisation, testing and analysis of materials;
- physico-chemical and environmental analyses;
- renewable energy and photovoltaic systems
- technological design, simulation and optimisation;
- electronics, prototyping and functional validation;
- energy efficiency, sustainability and economic optimisation;
- applied studies for organisations, companies and public institutions.
These areas are linked to, though not limited by, the institute's portfolio of RDI services, and can form the basis for applied collaboration, joint projects or tailored solutions for beneficiaries.
FORMS OF COLLABORATION
ICSTM can work with partners from business, institutional and academic settings through:
- research, development and innovation contracts;
- RDI services and technical expertise;
- joint projects with national or European funding;
- the testing and validation of products, materials, technologies or processes;
- the development of prototypes and tailored solutions;
- scientific and technological consultancy;
- applied studies on optimisation, sustainability and efficiency.
Collaboration can start from a technical problem, a testing need, a product idea, a request for optimisation or an opportunity for development through RDI projects.
