Laser Micromachining, Drilling and Surface Processing Services Using the Oxford Lasers Micro-Machining System

The RDI service "Laser micromachining, drilling and surface processing services using the Oxford Lasers Micro-Machining system" is dedicated to the high-precision processing of materials through advanced laser technologies. Using the Oxford Lasers Micro-Machining system, the service makes it possible to perform controlled operations of micromachining, drilling, perforation, texturing, surface ablation and selective cutting, applicable to a wide range of materials, including metals, ceramics, polymers and composites.

The service offers technological support for producing microholes, through-features with controlled geometry, functionalised surfaces and samples machined with micrometric accuracy. Processing is carried out through computer-controlled motion, which allows the working parameters to be adapted to the characteristics of the material, to the required geometry and to the requirements of the application.

Through this RDI service, feasibility tests can be carried out, processing parameters can be optimised and small and medium series of components or experimental samples can be machined. The results can be delivered in the form of machined parts or samples, accompanied, where appropriate, by information on dimensional and surface quality.

The service is addressed to companies, public institutions, laboratories and research organisations active in fields such as the automotive industry, the aerospace industry, instruments and equipment, electronics, microelectronics, energy, advanced materials, prototyping and the machining of small and medium series. Through the infrastructure available, ICSTM supports the development of precise and flexible technological solutions, adapted to the current requirements of applied research, technology transfer and industrial innovation.
